SUPERINTENDENT'S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
3/27/26

Dear CSD Families,

Today marks the start of our much-anticipated Spring Break! As we head into this week off, we would like to wish all of our students and families a wonderful, restful, and enjoyable time together.

We hope this break provides an opportunity to relax, recharge, and create meaningful memories. Whether you are traveling, spending time outdoors, or enjoying a quieter pace at home, we hope the week brings joy and renewal.

As students take this well-deserved break, we encourage them to continue making time for reading each day. Keeping up with a good book is a great way to stay engaged and inspired, even while away from the classroom.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed, re-energized, and ready to learn. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Wishing you a safe and happy Spring Break!

Take care,

Michael Chaix, Ed.D.
Superintendent

Celebrating Success at Los Amigos!

As we prepare to head into Spring Break, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible energy and achievement of our Dragon community. It is a busy season of growth, creativity, and community connection. Here are a few highlights from the past few weeks:

Our students are using their voices (and their art!) to make a difference. We are thrilled to announce that three of our 5th-grade students were recognized at the Cucamonga Valley Water District poster contest celebration. Their posters beautifully illustrated the vital importance of water conservation, proving that our scholars are as environmentally conscious as they are creative.

Continuous improvement is at the heart of what we do at Cucamonga School District. Recently, our leadership team held our second School Plan Write Day. We spent this focused time analyzing student data and refining our site goals. This collaborative process ensures we are always evolving to provide the best possible educational experience and foster growth for every student on our campus.

Reading has been front and center lately!

  • District Reading Fair: Huge congratulations to the three students recognized for their outstanding projects at the District Reading Fair. A special "thank you" goes out to our fabulous librarian, Veronica Haro, for her dedication to fostering a love of books in all our students.
  • Read Across America Week: We celebrated literacy with a week of high-energy activities and some very special guests. Our students were delighted to welcome visitors from the Ontario Reign, our local police officers, and the adorable four-legged friends from Agile Paws.

Whether it was through art, data, or a good book, the spirit of Los Amigos has never been stronger. I wish you all a restful, safe, and wonderful Spring Break. We look forward to seeing everyone back on campus, ready to finish the school year strong!
