SUPERINTENDENT'S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
2/28/2025

Dear CSD Families,

On February 27, we had the privilege of attending Cucamonga Elementary School's Living History event, a special occasion that highlighted the hard work and dedication of our 3rd grade students. Over the past several weeks, students have been deeply engaged in researching and learning about some of the most influential figures in history. Our students took great pride in bringing these remarkable individuals to life through their projects.

The event, organized by our talented 3rd grade teacher team, was a true celebration of student achievement and passion. Held in the MPR, the Living History Museum Presentation allowed students to showcase their knowledge and share their findings with families, staff, and fellow students. With excitement and enthusiasm, each student donned the persona of their historical figure, offering insights into the individual’s life and legacy. The energy in the room was palpable as our students eagerly shared their presentations with visitors.

A big thank you goes to our incredible 3rd grade team for coordinating this successful event. Their hard work and dedication ensured that the Living History presentation was a memorable experience for everyone involved. We are incredibly proud of the effort, creativity, and dedication demonstrated by our 3rd graders, and we look forward to seeing all the ways they continue to grow and learn in the future!

Take Care,

4th Graders Bring History to Life with Walk Through California!

Our 4th-grade students have been working hard to learn their lines and get ready for an exciting event—Walk Through California™! This dynamic presentation, hosted by California Weekly Explorer, allows students to actively engage in their learning through games, music, re-enactments, and storytelling that make history come to life!

During the experience, students explore key historical events, famous figures, and essential vocabulary, exploring the time from indigenous communities through statehood. The experience wraps up with students collaborating to build a large topographical map of California, which provides a hands-on way to understand the state's geography.

Through this interactive event, students practice their performance skills, listening abilities, and vocabulary while increasing their understanding of California history up to 1850. This engaging experience builds upon classroom learning and supports student comprehension of key historical concepts.

We are so proud of our 4th graders’ hard work and have really enjoyed watching two of our five classes bring history to life! Our other three classes will be participating in this amazing experience on March 13th!
