Dear Cucamonga School District Families,

This week, Congresswoman Torres' team visited Cucamonga Elementary School and hosted a delightful pumpkin patch for our TK and Kindergarten students. Each child had the wonderful opportunity to pick out their very own pumpkin, bringing a festive spirit to our fall season.

We are deeply grateful to Congresswoman Torres and her team for their generosity in creating such memorable experiences for our young learners. These events not only brought joy but also encouraged our students to engage with the spirit of the season and explore their creative potential.

Additionally, we had the privilege of visiting Rancho Cucamonga Middle School, where we were thoroughly impressed by the incredible art projects on display. We also observed students actively engaged in collaborative math assignments, working together to solve problems and share ideas. This emphasis on teamwork and creativity highlights the importance of fostering both academic and artistic expression within our schools.

Thank you for your continued support. We eagerly anticipate more fun and enriching events in the future!

Take care,
Michael Chaix, Ed.D.

SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT

Rancho Cucamonga Middle School

By Principal, Mr. Bobby Collins

Last Friday, RCMS was full of energy at the “Stranger Things” Halloween dance. Over 320 students packed the RCMS gym and enjoyed great food, great music, and spending this special time with friends. It was great to see our students showing off their best dance moves, singing at the tops of their lungs, and laughing with their peers. Even some of our teachers got in on the action, showing off some of their more seasoned dance steps. Special thanks to the ASB students and Mr. Hall for their hard work and leadership that allowed our students to have such an amazing experience.

Also last week, our Dean of Students (Mrs. Hill), our academic counselor (Mrs. Escamilla), and our ISS Teacher (Ms. Sanchez) attended the  CASC (California Association of School Counselors) conference in Riverside. This conference allows us to learn about current trends and bring research-based strategies related to student supports and  restorative practices back to campus. Not only does this help students, but it’s a great way for us to build the capacity of our staff as well.  Our team was excited to participate in sessions on Tier II academic and behavioral interventions, attendance supports, social justice, and restorative circles. We really appreciate that our staff members are passionate about supporting student needs and are helping to raise the bar at RCMS.
